In a distant, but not so unrealistic, future where mankind has abandoned earth because it has become covered with trash from products sold by the powerful multi-national Buy N Large corporation, WALL-E, a garbage collecting robot has been left to clean up the mess. Mesmerized with trinkets of Earth's history and show tunes, WALL-E is alone on Earth except for a sprightly pet cockroach. One day, EVE, a sleek (and dangerous) reconnaissance robot, is sent to Earth to find proof that life is once again sustainable. WALL-E falls in love with EVE. WALL-E rescues EVE from a dust storm and shows her a living plant he found amongst the rubble. Consistent with her "directive", EVE takes the plant and automatically enters a deactivated state except for a blinking green beacon. WALL-E, doesn't understand what has happened to his new friend, but, true to his love, he protects her from wind, rain, and lightning, even as she is unresponsive. One day a massive ship comes to reclaim EVE, but WALL-E, out of love or loneliness, hitches a ride on the outside of the ship to rescue EVE. The ship arrives back at a large space cruise ship, which is carrying all of the humans who evacuated Earth 700 years earlier. The people of Earth ride around this space resort on hovering chairs which give them a constant feed of TV and video chatting. They drink all of their meals through a straw out of laziness and/or bone loss, and are all so fat that they can barely move. When the auto-pilot computer, acting on hastily-given instructions sent many centuries before, tries to prevent the people of Earth from returning by stealing the plant, WALL-E, EVE, the portly captain, and a band of broken robots stage a mutiny.
EARTH:
The population had reached 200 billion. After Buy n Large gave the right to everyone to spend and buy, the planet soon came to the position that there was no place to properly dispose the waste. After Buy n Large failed to dispose all that trash they created an "amazing plan", that they thought the best and would work, called : "Operation Clanup". The plan was to evacuate all the population ( except some who stayed behind ) away in different parts of space while back on Earth WALL-E ( Waste Allocation Load Lifter: Earth class) robots and huge mobile incinerators would take charge of cleaning up. Thousands of Starliners where build all around the world, so the people would live safe and happy far from " Home" in the comfort and the luxury. Operation Cleanup success would be followed by "Operation Recolonize". However back on Earth the toxin levels began rising and many WALL-Es were faiIing. After the CEO of BNL that time Shelby Forthrite saw that his plan was failing and everything was becoming worse he ordered all robots to be shut down (missing one) and evacuate all of the population left. He also secretly sent the A113 Directive to all Autos on the year 2110 to cancel Operation Recolonize as he deemed that Earth would never support life anymore.
HUMANS:
Obese and largely unable to move on their own, they are carted around the Axiom in hover chairs with video screens that allow them to communicate with one another and see a variety of advertisements for drinkable food products. The humans have become fat and lazy because they rely to much on robots, for example:
- Cleaning Robots
- Security Robots
- Transport Robots
- Painting Robots
- Service Robots
- Teaching Robots
- Hairdressing Robots
- Umbrella Robots
- Typing Robots
- Auto Pilot Robot
- Massage Robots
- Make-up Robots
- Tennis Robots
- Golf Robots
- Health Robots
- Waste Disposal Robots
- Repair Robots
AUTO:
AUTO's personality resembles much of the personality of HAL 9000 from 2001: Space Odyssy. As a machine, he shows no kind of emotion and just complies with the orders that have been given to him by the Chairman of Axiom Corporation, through the A113 Protocol. As such, because of his programmed orders, he also can be quite ruthless as to his pursuit of his orders' success, even if it means forcing the human crew to comply against their will.
